About Us

Since 1 January 2009, all marketing and promotional activities for the province of North Holland have been conducted by the Noord-Hollandse Compagnie (North Holland Company). This group will continue to fulfil this function until at least the start of 2011. The Noord-Hollandse Compagnie consists of the following four members:

HDC Media
HDC publisher of a wide variety of regional newspapers in North and South Holland, including the Haarlems Dagblad, the IJmuider Courant, the Leidsch Dagblad and the Gooi- en Eemlander. They also publish Almere Vandaag and alphen.cc, as well as running Internet services such as Autocircuit.nl and vakantierecreatie.nl. HDC Media is based in Alkmaar. HDC Media

Zilte Zaken
Zilte Zaken is an advertising and communication bureau that particularly focuses on entrepreneurs in the tourism sector that operate in Dutch coastal regions. The bureau bundles together its clients’ mutual communication interests and ensures effective, goal-oriented and attractive advertising. They develop and produce their own publications for both tourists and entrepreneurs, organise events, initiate collaborative trade show presentations and generate public awareness. HR Media
HR Media has been producing films, videos and TV programmes for 16 years. They have created a variety of productions for clients such as the government, broadcasting companies, the business world and numerous organisations. Tourism and cultural history are two fields in which HR Media has carried out a huge number of projects. The company is based in Bemmel. HR Media

In spring 2009, the Noord-Hollandse Compagnie appealed to residents of and visitors to North Holland to send in their most attractive photo of the province. However, the photograph also had to feature a reflection in water of all main objects. The submissions were divided into eight categories.
All of the submitted material is available as a HiRes download. When using any of the photos, the name of the photographer must be displayed either in or underneath the photo.
